Satin Dalmatians
The Satin Dalmatian has a coat of soft texture and a lovely shine.
The shine is a result of the hair shaft being hollow and reflecting the light. White reflects the light more than most colours. The darker the colours the less light will be reflected giving the coat a much less sparked appearance. On the satin agouti coats the ends of the hair where the tip colour is will stand out and shine like they glow.
The Satin Dalmatians are first judged on the degree and quality of the satinization. The colour is intensified and gives a darker over all colour. Where the hair is shorter the colour will be darker. The shine should extend down the length of the hair shaft to the body in which they are awarded 30 points.

Satin Crested Dalmatians
The Satin Crested Dalmatian is not common breed of dalmatian. Some say breeding satin dalmatians is hard enough without putting a crest on them. They are first judged by their satinization, then their crest, and then for their markings. Not an easy breed of Dalmatian to show.

Satin Abyssinian Dalmatian
The Satin Abyssinian Dalmatian I feel is and would be the most rare of all the dalmatians. They are firstly judged on the satinization and is allocated 30 points. Then 70 points to the standard of the abyssinian. As the abyssinian is a coarse coated cavy which asks for a wealth and depth of a thick and harsh coat. So adding satin would be making the coat softer and not harsh.
