BELLY MARKINGS
Belly spots are a must if you want to achieve an even, balanced look of spots over the whole body.
Self colour dalmatians are likely to always have spotting on the belly compared to the agouti or argente dalmatian. Although it is not entirely impossible for an agouti to display the same amount of spotting as a self.
Of course the aim is to have the spots of even size and well distributed, as to large irregular spots. Black dalmatians are by far the most common colour, they seem to nearly always have a good amount of belly spots.
Only recently self dalmatians like saffron, buff, red, lilac and beige are being bred and are certainly proving to be a challenge with spotting.
